Lights out in the city for Earth Hour


THIS YEAR Brunei Darussalam once again participated in the global earth hour movement by shutting off the lights in some of the major landmarks in the city for an hour starting from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

Hundreds of people gathered at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah yesterday to celebrate the annual earth hour campaign. 

Minister of Development, Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, was present to officiate Brunei’s Earth Hour celebration at the YSHHB Complex, where he also joined a night-walk around the capital with Brunei Earth Hour Ambassador, Sheikh Jamaluddin Sheikh Mohamed and Brunei Earth Hour supporters.

One of the highlights of the event was the "Glow Stick Run' joined by several hundreds of people. A famous marvel character, special also made special appearance last night as the first super hero ambassador of earth hour.
